OK, well all I have to say is I was not prepared for all this yard work, (and I did the least work). We were told by friends and neighbors that, oh it is easy to do... well guess again because we have been outside on and off for the past three weeks. Kyle has been up early and we have stayed out late trying to get everything ready for the sprinklers and grass. This was more then I bargained for, but we are excited because the process is almost done and we should have grass soon. I was not much help outside but I did do some digging and raking, mostly I was the gofer and babysitter. I had to make sure that I did not lose any of the kids of the guys who helped us. I made food, and there were a lot of hot days so I was the drink lady. I will be happy when this is done so my wood floors will be wood again instead of dirt. It did make me feel a little better when John, our friend and the guy who is showing us what to do, told me that he never tells people how much work it really is because then he knows they won't do it. It is not that it is so hard, it is just a ton of work. But I know it will all be worth it when we are done.

This is where it all started. We added a little extra cement patio for a grill and outside toys, (both of which we don't have but we are ready when we do)!

We were lucky it was a cool morning the day we pored the cement because we had a few tool issues...

but Kyle and a few buddies that helped us worked hard and fast...

And as you can see it turned out beautiful, and we already love it!

Then we moved onto project #2. The whole yard was torn up by a trencher so we could lay the pipe for the sprinklers. Kyle and I followed the trencher and dug out all the extra dirt that had fallen in. We were out there from about 9am till 9pm. Again, not prepared for that one!

You can see all the lines that are darker show you a few of the lines that had to be dug out so we could lay the pipe. The hardest part was trying to keep Dayton and the neighbor kids from jumping in and out of all the holes!

Then a little fun came along, and it was well deserved. Kyle and Dayton were trying to level the dirt to get ready for the grass.

And it was a dusty job to say the least, we were all covered.

In case you have not noticed we are all a little exhausted and have had some busy days. Dayton too has worked extra hard at playing while his parents were a little absent from parenting. There were a few days he skipped his nap and it was everything I could do just to get him to eat. He was not sitting down for five minutes when he was out cold. Power Rangers could not even keep him awake, and if you look close you will see that his hand is in his bowl. He was too tired to even finish eating!
