For what ever reason these two thought this kitchen rug would be a nice place to lay around.

Lying Around
It's no secret that we love Sunday's. They are relaxing and a little lazy. I was in the kitchen making a fantastic dinner of grilled cheese and tomato soup for Kyle, and rice for Dayton, (both of which they chose, not my idea), while Camrie was crawling around my legs. I turn around, look down and this is what I found.

Fix My Hair
This morning I was getting us all ready to take Dayton to school, and surprise, we were running late. I called Dayton up so I could comb his hair while I was putting on my make-up. I like to comb his hair one way, (kinda spiky), and he likes it another way, ( completely flat). So we normally compromise on this and I gel it flat but with a little volume. Who knew he would care so much...but today was another story. I was combing it like always and trying to hurry and he is yelling at me' "no mom spiky, spiky. My friends like it spiky". I look at him confused but trying to do what he said I spiked it, but of course I was not spiking it right. We continued to argue for the next 5 minutes as I tried to figure out what it was he wanted and then I got it right. The back needed to be flat and the front needed to be spiky. Apparently that is what his friends like. So this is what we got... I have to admit I think this is one thing he gets from me.

Camrie has been crawling for a few weeks now, but most of it has just been a few moves here and there. This past week she has really started moving, and has learned she can leave the family room, but when she makes it to the hard floor she stops and whines till someone comes and picks her up. Anyway, here she is in action.

Birthday Weekend
Dayton and I just had our birthdays and we partied all weekend. I started Thursday night when some girlfriends took me out for dinner and a little shopping. Friday, my birthday, was mostly spent getting ready for Dayton's party, but I did wake up to homemade cards from the kids and Kyle surprised me by taking me to lunch. Saturday, Dayton's birthday, was fun from the start with Kyle taking Dayton golfing that morning while I got things ready for the party. I am not going to lie, I had not been this stressed since college finals. And I am not really a stresser, but most of what I had planned had to be changed for one reason or another, but we made it and then went out for dinner. We were on the go all day and it was not even dark out before Dayton had every single present out of its box and ready to be played with, and he wanted to play with them all... at the same time.

Here I am with my girlfriends. We laughed the whole time and were totally that group of girls that all the other tables found obnoxious, but we didn't care we were partying.

I did some prep work on Friday. My friend Angela helped me blow up balloons for the party, but Dayton and his friend were not waiting for the party to have fun.

This is Dayton's cake. It is one of the few things that turned out like I had hoped, and thank goodness it did because I am not sure I could have taken it if it had not. Just in case you your not sure... it is Spiderman on his web (and I made the whole thing, not bad for my first try).

For some reason Dayton got a little shy when we started singing happy birthday to him. Maybe he was a little embarrassed because as soon as I put the cake down he blew out the candles. I had to relight them so we could sing to him and then he blew them out again. I guess he did not want to get sung to, who knew.

This is one of the games we played. I found it the night before the party when I could not sleep. The kids had to pop the balloons to get the prize out. This was quite loud not to mention there were about 50 balloons. (I know that is a lot, I am the one who put the prize in there and blew them up).

Dayton got to pick where we had dinner and he wanted quesadillas, so we went for Mexican. It was a great choice that we all enjoyed. Here is our birthday picture!

Dayton is dancing for us at the restaurant while we wait for our food. And thank goodness Kyle speaks Spanish, for when the food came out I asked for extra napkins and the waitress brought us ketchup. So Kyle then took over the talking and we got our napkins.

To end the evening as if Dayton had not gotten enough presents, he opened a few more from Kyle and I and his grandparents. This little guy could not be more spoiled, but he is worth it. Tonight as I tucked him into bed he asked me if he could have another party. I said sure, next year. He was happy enough with that answer, but I am sure we have not heard the last of it.

First Day of Pre-School
Dayton started school today. He will have it every Tuesday and Thursday till May. His favorite thing about school is Arts and Crafts. (I'm not positive, but I don't think he gets that from Kyle!) He is so excited that his birthday is this Saturday and it is on the school calender. School is just 2 hours and he wishes it was a little longer, but really he just likes playing with the other kids.
Growing up
Camrie will be 8 months old next week and has changed so much. She is still such a good and happy baby, and as you can see has not lost her chubby cheeks or blue eyes that we love. But I have to admit that she is growing a little faster then I would like. And soon our house will be turned upside down as she learns to crawl.

She has started eating rice cereal and is really not a fan. No matter what I put in it she makes a face like I just gave her a lemon. Here though she looks happy b/c she finally got hold of the bowl and spoon that she had been fighting for for the entire 20 min I was trying to feed her.

I am shocked that Camrie is not crawling yet, but I know she will be soon. She has mastered scooting backwards and as soon as she realized that her arms can move there will be no stopping her.

Camrie got her first 2 teeth. It was not a pleasant experience, but they finally came though about 3 weeks ago, (one about a week before the other).

She also has been sitting up by herself for a few weeks now and this is my favorite thing because she can't crawl yet but she can sit up, look around, and play with toys all by herself and is very content doing so. Her favorite toys are phones, especially cell phones, and the remote control. She changes the channel all the time and usually gets yelled at by Dayton. I swear she does it on purpose.
