Fun In The Sun

After a week of rain we were ready to be out in some sunshine. We started Saturday off with Dayton's soccer game. I was so excited to see him play, and was not let down.

We were so proud of Dayton and even though he was sad they lost again he told us it was okay because he is a fast runner. He also did not do any cartwheels the way another teammate did, so I was proud of that.

That afternoon Kyle went and bought a much needed grill. That night he cooked us up some delicious steaks. And the next night he grilled us chicken, I can really get used to him cooking!

Yesterday the kids had fun playing with the neighbors and their new slip-n-slide. Camrie was very hesitant at first but after warming up to the cold water she started kicking and splashing like the other kids.

Already she thinks she is one of the big kids.

Dayton loves to play with the neighbor kids and they are so cute with Camrie.
It is hard to hear but at the end Dayton gets up and says... "that was totally wicked!"

Camrie was not showing off very well, but she loves to be on the trampoline. She usually walks and jumps all over the place and likes to jump with some of the bigger kids but only if she can hold their hand. She is adventurous but not very brave.

Easter Sunday

For Easter weekend we went up to Preston, Id to be with some of my family. The Easter Bunny found us up there and nobody was more excited then Dayton. Sunday morning we were getting ready to go find our eggs but Camrie needed a diaper change and Dayton could hardly stand the wait so he told us "I will just go see if he came and I will come back and tell you". We
told him to just wait a minute and then we would all go up. Dayton then said, "well I will just tip toe up there very slow so I won't beat you guys." Finally we were ready to go and despite Dayton's attempts we all went up together and the Easter Bunny had come bringing lots of candy and goodies.

Here they are for a quick picture in between finding eggs. Camrie is already sporting her new necklace and bracelet that was in her basket.

This is one of the only eggs Camrie actually got herself. No matter how hard Dayton and I tried she just would not participate. But I am guessing that is only because she did not know the eggs were filled with candy.

On the other hand Dayton would open every egg when he found it and as you can see by his mouth he helped himself to some. He was a great finder and had all his eggs in just a few minutes.

Here is Camrie not with her eggs, but one of her new books. The only problem with this was she did not even find her eggs, her mom did, she was too busy reading.

Not our best, but the best we got. Here we are walking to the car on the way to church. I made the kids sit for a second to get some pictures and then the camera died. So there is one good one of Dayton and one of Camrie. (Don't mind Camrie's one shoe that is missing, I think she was sitting on it). But even though I did not get the family pictures I wanted, the kids we so cute in there new Easter clothes.

It was a beautiful day and we were outside playing when a neighbor of my sisters rode by in a horse and carriage. He was so nice and offered to take the kids for a ride. Dayton jumped right in and his cousins Cole and Kyon joined in.
Poor Camrie wanted to get in too, she was fascinated by the horses and kept wanting to touch them. Maybe next time.

It was so neat, you just don't see these anymore. Dayton said it was great!

Soccer Star

Saturday was Dayton's very first soccer game. I was so sad to miss it, but Kyle started him off with a hearty breakfast from McDonald's and then they got ready for the game. I asked Dayton how he did and he told me they lost, so much for just playing for fun. But Kyle said that he did really good and almost scored 2 goals. I can't wait till next Saturday when I get to see him play.

I was up in Idaho and was so sad to miss Dayton's game so I made Kyle take lots of pictures. This must be his soccer player/power ranger move.

Here he is getting serious with his game face. He looks so tough.

And here the little guys are in action. There are 6 kids on a team and three play at a time. Only four were there on Saturday and when Kyle told Dayton it was his turn to sit out he got mad and started yelling at him. But then one of the other kids got tired and wanted to sit out so Dayton got to play the whole game.

Dancing With The Stars

We bought this little play house for Dayton a few years ago and just remembered, so we brought it back out and dusted it off for Camrie. Dayton is not willing to give it up completely so he tells me, he and Camrie can share it. We were only going to keep it out for a few days, but the kids have loved it so much that this play house is still awkwardly sitting in our family room.
After just a few tries Camrie became a pro and could climb up all by herself. Dayton has even taught her a few tricks we could have done without, but so far no serious falls.

Here is her first attempt to go down the slide by herself. I am not sure, but apparently it is safer to go down one leg at a time.

Here we are just a few nights ago flipping through channels and as soon as music comes on the kids can't help but shake it. This happens every so often and it makes Kyle and I laugh so hard I had to get it on video. Enjoy! (And sorry in advance for the camera work).
