Birthday Surprise

For our birthday's we all went out to dinner Saturday night to our favorite place, Cafe Rio. Then for Dayton's birthday he woke to his big present a new bike, then we has waffels with lots of whip cream. We threw Dayton a little surprise party with a few boys, and he loved it. He said they freaked him out when they all yelled "Happy Birthday." He got some great gifts, we played some kickball, popped balloons, and made ice cream sundays. Then we had a little family party where he got to open more gifts from his grandparents and ended the day with ice cream cake!

Kindergarten Here We Come

We did it, we made it to the first day of school. Dayton thought it would never come and was so excited and happily went off with his friends to the "big school" as he calls it.

It is just down the street and he goes in the afternoon class. Sometimes the mornings can't go fast enough for him til it's time for school. He already loves it and his teacher Mrs. Bair.

Dayton and Cole just before heading to their first day. They are in the same class, which they love, but I fear for their teacher!

And they are off. Dayton has a few friends in his class and he gets to see his other friends at recess. After his first day I was so excited to see how it was and when he got home I gave him a big hug and asked him how it was and he said, " It was good, can I go out and play?" New school year, same old Dayton.

Summer Recap...Virginia

After a month in New York we headed down to Virginia for a couple weeks. It was great to be home and see so many friends and family. We had forgotten how green and beautiful it was there and remembered that we did not miss the traffic, but other then that it was so fun to be back.

We did not waste any time. The second night at Papa and Nana Decker's, we had a sleep-over with our cousins Marae 7, Kaden 5 and McKell 2.

I can't say I was ready to leave, but after almost 7 weeks of being gone, it was time to go home. So we packed up one more time and made the 30 hour drive back to Utah. The kids were the best they have ever been and we made great time with Kyle driving almost the whole way. It is so nice to be home, but we had such a good time I am pretty sure we will do it again next year.
The kids playing at a rest stop getting some energy out, and playing with some glow sticks in the car for the last stretch before we got home.

Summer Recap...New York

We stayed pretty busy for the month we were in NY. We were able to see friends and family and and do a lot of playing. Here is a little of what we did...
Playing on the slip and slide at Grandpa Bill's.

Hanging out at cook-outs.

Swimming in the neighbors pool because it was too hot to do anything else.

Taking the kids for a spin on a little hay ride.

Dayton got to go to the school's summer camp where dodge ball became his new favorite game. And he got to be in the parade with all the kids for Field Days.
There are all kinds of things at Field Days... food, games, cars, ice cream and everybody comes out to watch the cars race...

But all Dayton wanted to do was play this one game called Rolo.

And all Camrie wanted to do was eat cotton candy.

We also had lots of fires where we would have smores or just roast marshmellows.

Here we are at Uncle Jim's, but we also had one at Grandma Jody's and Uncle Tom's.

Camrie and I spent a lot of time with Grandma at the hair salon where she works.

We painted our nails almost every day and Both Camrie and I got our hair cut.

Playing a little kickball.

And saying our goodbyes to all our family... Grandma Jody,

Most of the Spaulding cousins.

And Grandpa Bill and Paula.
