Taryn's Blessing Day

We blessed Taryn at the church Saturday Aug. 13th. My family has grown so much that we thought it would be a little much to add 30 people to the church meeting. Not to mention that we have church at 9 and my family
does not function well that early in the morning, so trying to get 30 people ready by 8:30 was not our best option. So we still went to the church, we just did it on Saturday and had a wonderful time. Kyle gave Taryn a beautiful blessing and then we did what we do best, eat. We were going to go to the park, but it was so hot we stayed at the church and played. It was wonderful to have so much of our family there for Taryn's special day, and we thoroughly missed the ones who were too far and unable to attend. She is a very loved little girl.

Back to New York

It was a bitter sweet trip back to New York this year. It was great to go visit and see so many friends and family, but we were very sad to say goodbye to Papa Mike. We are happy he is not sick anymore and know he is in a better place. We will miss him alot and look forward to the day we will see him again.
We received the call that Papa Mike passed Saturday the 23 of July and were on a plane the next morning. We left our house at 4 am and were in New York by 4pm. It was a long day with little to no sleep, and with our kids everything is an adventure.
The kids were about as good as they could have been, only getting bored a few times. And Taryn slept pretty much the whole time.
We fought to see who got to sit by Camire. Kyle had her the first plane for 3 hours and I had her the second for an hour. She colored on his shorts and spilled apple juice all over her and me so I would say we are even.
We went and saw Kyle's brother Jay's new house and had dinner with some of the family. Here the kids are with Grandma Carter. (Kyle's grandma)
Grandpa Carter
Cousin Ainsley, she is almost 7 months and the kids loved to play with her.
In the back yard cooking some smoores.
Grandma and Taryn.
There was an awesome tree that the kids climbed all over. We miss the trees.
The gang, Grandpa, Kyle, Jay, Grandma, Jared, Jody, and Meghan.
Grandpa and Taryn.
Field Days. The local Fire departments race their trucks and there is games and food. Here the kids are watching the races.
Here Dayton is playing one of the games, Rolo. It is thier favorite and they play till they win so they get to pick out a prize. Camrie played this year by herself and won after just a few games.
Dayton played so many games that I lost count, and won at least 7 times, I lost count after that. He would play till he ran out of money and then someone would give him more so he would go back and play some more.
Sitting with Grandma Jody, (Kyle's mom).
Spaulding Reunion.
swimming in the kid pool.
We kicked the boys out and made it the girl pool.
Here's the boy pool.
Some of the guys hanging out.
Taryn loved her cousin Brooke who held her almost the whole time.
More pool time.
Happy Birthday Grandpa Bill, (Kyle's Dad).
Last day in New York packing up and hanging out with Uncle Jared.
He is so fun. He held Taryn when she cried, played rolo with Camrie till she won and got a pony, played games and had sleep-overs on the couch with Dayton.
All ready to go to the airport. Little did we know we were going to be delayed and miss our connecting flight and be stuck in Atlanta for 24 hours. The only good thing was that we flew home in style riding first class.

Decker Get Together

In July all the Decker's got together for a weekend. It was the first time in 3 years all 42 of us had been together, and there was so much we wanted to do together that we were super busy trying to fit it all in. We started with a baptism, then a picnic, chuck-e-cheese, family pictures, then the pool, a night playing at the park, church and finished the weekend seeing the Temple in Salt Lake.
Papa and Nana and all the grandkids.
we got shirts and put the kids birth order # on the back. I love this tradition, Dayton is 13, Camrie is 19 and even Taryn got one being the newest addition at 26, (she is lying in front on the grass).
These are the 5 little girl cousins that were born all within 3 months of each other. They are all 3 now and are so cute together. Tayla, Camire, Emery, Bekah, and McKell.
Cooling off at the pool.
Camrie, Em, and Tayla.
Dayton went down the slide with Kyle catching him at the bottom. This is great progress because last year we had to fight him to go down with Kyle, and this year he did it all by himself.
hanging out in the pool with Nana. Papa took a nap with Taryn under the umbrella.
Hanging out with the cousins.
Dayton and Jaina in the lazy river.
Going down the slide.
Dayton went down the big slide again and this time Uncle Cache caught him at the end. Dayton came down so fast that Cache almost missed him, and Dayton thought he almost drowned. He did not panic like I thought he would, but he did not go down again.
Exhausted.
After a day at the pool we had dinner and played at the park.
Camrie and Emery playing at the park.
Some of the boy cousins, Kyon, Camden, Kaden, Josh, Dayton, and Shad on top.
