Dayton's Baptism

Dayton was baptized Saturday September 15th.  It was a much anticipated day for all of us and we were so grateful to all those who were able to share it with us.
Here he is ready to go.
Kyle and Dayton right before he was baptized.
I had to fight to get more pictures, but this was a big day.
A new man after being baptized
It was so great to have Grandma Jody and Papa and Nana Decker, along with lots of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends there for Dayton on his big day.

Party Time

Dayton had a friends party on his birthday right after school.  We invited 8 boys and all 8 came.
Dayton got to choose a few friends and go somewhere fun or more friends and have a party at the house.   He choose more friends and it was a very loud and crazy two hours . Kyle was not here to help, but a big thank you to my mom and sister who were able to help me.
Dayton wanted some games but most of all he wanted a pinata.
I was hoping every boy would get a chance to hit the ball before it broke.  As it turns out they could not break it, even after I took away the blindfold and added a metal bat.  Finally some candy fell out and they all dove for it so I just shook the rest out.
Another game was to pop the balloon with a dart and get a prize.  Another game I though would be over in about 2 minutes.  As it turns out they are not so good at throwing darts.  I finally had to just let them pop the balloon with a pin.  But all that matters were the prizes.
Cake and ice cream.
Lots of fun presents.
Look close and all the boys got their faces painted.  My friend was kind enough to come do this for me.  She is so talented, and I think the boys really liked it.
Here is a closer look,  Dayton  and most the boys got a scorpion and Camrie got a flower.

It's great to be 8

Happy Birthday Dayton! Here he is having his first breakfast being 8.  Under all that whipped cream there is a waffle.
Dayton got an early gift from his Grandpa in New York, and it has been played on just about every day since.  It was one of the few things Dayton wanted on a very expensive list.  A special gift for turning 8 and getting baptized.
Dayton wanted to eat some of his candy before school, but then he decided he wanted to wait to show his friends at his party.
Family presents, we had to wait till Saturday to do gifts so Grandma Jody (who flew in Friday night) and Kyle (was out of town for work). Dayton did not mind having his birthday for 3 days.
This was Taryn's favorite gift. She took it and ran.
Dayton asked for an ice cream cake with vanilla crushed Oreo's in the middle and mint chip on top. It was yummy.
All his new cool stuff.

First Day's of School

Summer is over and we are full time in school now.  Dayton started on August 22nd and was very excited and ready to start 2nd grade.  His teacher is Mrs. Stone and he thinks she is cute.
New clothes, shoes, and book bag.  He is ready.
This is the best I could get of him by the school.  I love that he still loves school.  His favorite part and the only thing he talks about is recess.
Poor Camrie had to wait a little longer for her first day, but she was ready when Sept. 4th came. We had gotten new clothes and shoes and a book bag just like Dayton. It was fun taking the kids out and letting them pick their stuff out.
Pretty girl with her pretty princess book bag.
Hanging her stuff up in her classroom, what a big girl.
Standing by her star where she can get prizes for being good and since she talks less then Dayton we are pretty sure she will do great.
