The whole month of May was filled with field trips, projects, presentations, activities, talent shows and more. Parents were invited to all of it so almost every day Jaren, Taryn and I would pack up and head to the school. Taryn had her last field trip to an Ice Cream shop, where she got to watch them make ice cream and waffle cones. After they made the ice cream, they got to eat it with sprinkles.
Mixed in all the school stuff Dayton had baseball 3 times a week. We spent our Saturdays at his double-headers. This is his second home-run of the season, but the first one I got to see.
We also had a trip to the dentist for the three older kids. So I checked them out of school and took them to lunch right before. They always pick McDonald's.
It was a happy day filled with smiles because nobody had any cavities!
Jaren did not get his teeth cleaned, but he did make his presence known by running all through the office multiple times.
The whole 5th grade competed in events and the top 3 go to compete against other schools. Dayton was in the top 3 and got to go to Iron Kid for the competition.
They have a race where they have a relay race to run back and forth with bean bags, then they have to stack cups in certain patterns, and then they throw a Frisbee and try to hit the targets.
After the race competition they have a hula-hoop competition.
Jaren and Taryn were good to play by me, but Jaren likes to try to run away. I was too pregnant to chase after him, so Taryn tries to get him. The problem is Jaren is not that much smaller then Taryn, so this is how she learned to stop him. She tackles him and then sits on him till I reach them. She likes it more than him.
So proud, our school took 3rd place for all 5th graders. And they all got medals for hula-hooping.
For the wax museum project Dayton chose JFK. Part of the project was standing by his poster and not moving or talking for over an hour while parents and other students came to read the posters. Dayton was not sure how he would survive not talking for the entire hour. But he did a good job because when I walked by and asked him some questions he would not talk to me.
Camrie had 2 book reports in the last few weeks. She read the book and then had to write a letter for one book and make a poster flow chart for the other. We typed it all up and she did all the illustrations.
The kids were invited to a pool party but couldn't go so we went and had our own fun somewhere else. I took the kids out for breakfast and then to Boondocks for fun and games.
Taryn tried out a few games but this was her favorite.
Dayton ran around so fast I hardly saw him, but I could usually find him shooting some hoops.
Taryn and Jaren liked the jungle gym.
Jaren found he also loved this game, but beware if you were anywhere near him...
The kids all got to enjoy a little 3-D theater.
Rids and games.
After throwing over and over and over and never getting it into the hole, Jaren found a new way to play.
After we ran out of tokens, we went to the lanes for some bowling.
Mixed in with everything else, our sweet Taryn had her pre-school graduation.
They sang songs about all the things they learned all year.
Each kid was spot lighted with all their favorite things and all they want to be when they grow up.
We love Ms. Misty as our pre-school teacher.
Balloons for the special night.
