Soccer Star

Camrie has been asking to play soccer so we finally got her on a team. I was not sure how she would do or if she would like it but so far so good.
They take turns playing all the positions. Here is Camrie being the goalie. She is lucky to have a Dad who is helping give her some pointers. Her favorite position to play is mid-field.

Basement Start to Finish

After months and even years of talking about it we finally started the huge project of finishing the basement. It was no small project to move all the stuff that was down there somewhere out of the way of the workers and it was terrible not having a basement the entire summer, but now that is it done we love it.
I did not take many pictures but here is the beginning getting it all framed.
Then we had all the HVAC, then electrical, plumbing, and a bunch of other things that had to happen until we could paint.
Then it was our turn to do some work. Kyle and I and a few kids primed and painted the whole basement. It was so much work I don't know when I will paint anything ever again.

The ceilings were rough on the necks and quite messy.
Taryn tackling the closet. Some how they ended up with more paint on them then the walls, but it was a first coat so it was okay.
The bathroom was a huge job all by itself. Kyle and a friend did almost all the work. This was a big project getting all the tile in.
Getting closer. It seemed like a never ending job, but finally it was all painted.
There was only one thing left to do before we were ready for doors and carpet. The closets needed shelves.
We could not find someone who could come get them done asap so we reluctantly tackled them ourselves. We had some help with directions and tools, but I have never done a project this big.
We needed them in the girls bedroom closets and in the playroom closets.
We did it and they turned out better then I thought so it was a success.

Finally we are all done.
Taryn's new room.
 Camrie's new room.
The bathroom.
The main room. (Family room/ playroom).

Back To School

And just like that we are back to school. Every summer goes by faster and faster. This year Taryn was the most excited to go back to school. I was the most sad because I could no longer sleep in. Dayton and Camrie were back and forth about going back and Jaren was just confused. One day they were all home and the next they were all gone.
Dayton was probably 50/50 nervous /excited about 7th grade until we went to back to school night to find his locker and all his classes. After this we were both terrified, but I knew he would figure it all out.
It took us a few tries but he got the locker thing down.
First day of 7th grade. Attending Sandridge Jr High standing just under 5' 4".
Camrie is now a 4th grader in Mrs. Olson's class standing 4' 7".
Taryn is in Mrs South's 1st grade class and is now 4 feet tall.
That leaves me with these two little monkeys for most the day. As you can see they keep me busy. We have to trap Ryder because he goes straight for the stairs and Jaren is a great "helper".
Jaren is 3' 5" with Ryder right behind him at 2' almost 4".
He knows he is being naughty... but has us all wrapped around his little fingers.

Slumber Party

We had last minute visit to Provo with lots of cousins. It was one of the few times we got together for no reason and with no agenda so it was relaxing, crazy, and so much fun. I hope we do this again every summer.
We met in Salt Lake for some shopping and dinner.
While in Provo we went and saw new huge addition to the MTC and took a tour. It was really awesome, extremely hot and we had nine little kids.
After the tour we all headed to the pool to cool off.
Camrie on the high dive.
Missing a few cousins but trying to get them all in a picture at the same time is not easy.
Celebrating some August birthdays to our angels in heaven. Happy Birthday Cole, Shay and Papa Mike. We sang to them and then enjoyed cupcakes and suckers just like they would have if they were here.
Taryn took a turn off the diving board. I was nervous, but she did awesome!
Swimming in the deep end, Camrie, Tayla and Taryn.
Kim has not lost her touch.
Papa and Nana treated all the grand kids to an afternoon of fun and games.
Sorry to the lady who got hit in the ankle by a wild throw from Jaren.
The 4 grand-babies born in 2016. Dallen, Ryder, Karly, and Sadie
The 4 grand-babies born in 2014. Jaren, Davis, Kylie, Avery.
It was so nice out so we took the kids to the new park by Papa and Nana's house.
We don't get to see each other enough, but when we do we have a blast. It seems like there is always one missing, Jamie is in VA, But considering us girls live in 5 different states we have to take what we can get.  Kristen, Kim, Jenny, Mom, and Jaci.
