Jr Jazz Night

Last Monday night was Jr. Jazz Night at the Energy Solutions Center for the boys and girls who played youth basketball. We all went to Salt Lake for it and it was so much fun. They played great music and played games. We all were very entertained.

Here is Dayton in his Jazz jersey ready for the night. Some of the kids got colored tickets to play in the games. We did not get one, but every time they called a color Dayton ran down to the court to try and play. He came back crying one time, but he was happy when he caught a little football and a shirt. Camrie got a shirt and a picture of the Bear.

Here is the family ready for the night to start.

There were some local celebrities there like McDonald (as the kids call him).

And the Jazz Bear.

He covered us with silly string.

And joined in on the basketball game.

And tried to make a half court shot backwards. He never made it but the kids didn't care, they thought he and Little Bear were great.

Here he is again standing on the backboard.

Then sitting.

Then went through the hoop. He was so much fun.

We are not sure who this guy is but he was playing games and tricks all night. Here he is with Dayton. We asked for a picture with him and he threw him up on his shoulder. Dayton loved it.

He did the same with Camrie, but she was a little nervous.

It's That Time Again

It was our annual all-star night. We had our pizza, moved the furniture, and played some ball.

Here is the crew.

I think Dayton shot the most.

And we were happy to welcome Taryn to her first all-star night.

There was a little rough play.

Lots of shooting hoops.

Some hula-hoops.

And lots of just playing around.

Like always we had a tons of fun and can't wait till next year.

Look What I Made

Kyle was gone all last week on a business trip, so to keep busy I did some projects.
I collected paper towel and toilet paper rolls for months, (a big thanks to my friends and sisters who gave me some too).

This is my Valentine's window.
I made the wreath, the XOXO, the love, and the puff balls.
(But this was a few weeks ago, not just this last week).
And here is by best find.
I found this cupboard at the DI, a second hand store. This is the back of it. I did not get a before picture of the front, but to give you an idea of what it looked like before and after.
And here is the after. I am not done, but this is it for now. I am pretty happy with it and it only cost me $55, for the piece and paint.
Here are the kids playing with Kyle the night he got home. Do you think they missed him?

Boys Night Out

Last Wednesday Kyle and Dayton went to a Jazz game. Dayton had been counting down the days and was counting them down for around two weeks.

Here they are just outside the arena.

They got a free basketball.

And here they are about 25 minutes before game time. Dayton talked Kyle into getting some blue cotton candy. The game did not start until 8:30 so it was a really late night, but a great game. The Jazz ended up losing by 2 but there were lots of dunks and Dayton liked #5 on both teams because that is his number. If you look behind him you will see that their seats were upper bowl, and when they got up there Dayton said to Kyle, "these seats are awesome, I can see everything from up here."

This Week in Sports

There has been alot of accomplishments for Taryn over these past few weeks. She has learned to sit up, crawl, and learned to stand up in her crib and on the couch.

Here she is in action. She has also discovered the kitchen and for some reason loves to get stuck under the table. Thank goodness she has not yet found the stairs.

Here is Camrie in her tumbling class. She goes once a week and loves it. She asks every day if it is "dance day."

She is taking the class with her friend Ally.

She does back bends on these mats.

She is learning to do summer salts, back bends, hops, skipping, and cartwheels.
Dayton plays basketball every Saturday and loves every minute of it.

We are ready for a nap.
