Trip to Paradise

Kyle and I were able to escape real life for a week and hit a bunch of islands on a Southern Caribbean cruise. We started in Puerto Rico and made our way down to Barbados. This was our 4th cruise and our favorite one yet. The weather was perfect and the beaches were amazing. We had so much fun that we really didn't take as many pictures as we should have.
Here are a few pictures of the beach in Puerto Rico from our hotel.
Here we are just about to get on the ship. We went with our friends Danny and Sarah.
After breakfast, lunch and dinner Kyle could be found by the ice cream machine, and a few times in between. This is his first one on this cruise.
Hanging out on the ship seeing some of Puerto Rico as we set off on our trip. It is really a beautiful island. There is also an amazing military fort that sits right on the coast.
We went to St. Thomas, St. Johns, St. Maarten, St. Kits, St Lucia, and Barbados.
Day 1 we were in St. Thomas and St. Johns islands.
Most the beaches were crystal clear and you could see little fish and little sharks as you were swimming. We went snorkeling a few times and Kyle saw a shark just like this one but about 4 feet bigger. There were huge turtles, sting rays, and hundreds of tiny fish.
Day 2, St. Maarten was at the airplane beach. There is an airport right by the beach and all day long big and small airplanes fly right over the beach. It is fun to be there, but it blows sand everywhere, like everywhere and it kind of hurts. It was funny to watch other people get hit with the sand.
We wondered off a little and found our own little private beach for just the 4 of us. The boys went snorkeling while we hung out on the beach. It was a little too rocky to swim but there were great seashells.
Here is a little of the ship. We would get a new towel design everyday. This was for Valentines Day.
Each night we would clean up from the beach and head to dinner then a show. There were some theme nights like 80's night singing and dancing, or we would go watch comedians or a juggler. They were all fun and entertaining.
Sometimes before dinner we would hit the pool. It was so nice to relax in the warm sun in February. They always had a show or contest to entertain us, and if nothing else there was always  lots of food.
Day 3 St. Kitts. There we didn't do the beach but went up the mountain and did a zip line. It was so beautiful. We were covered by huge green trees everywhere. But up at the top over to the left you could still see the beach. This zip line had 4 parts and honestly it was not enough, it was so amazing and fun.
Just a quick picture of our ship.
Day 4 was St. Lucia. We found a super nice kid to drive us around the island. Our first stop was at a resort and had some great snorkeling where it was more rocky and had colorful fish. Then our tour guide took us to another beach where we ate and relaxed but did not take a single picture. On our way back to the ship he drove us through the city so we could see more of the island.
Day 5 was our last island of the cruise where we when to Barbados. Luckily it was mostly overcast because we were a little sunburn and when the sun did come out it was unbelievably hot. We hit another beach and did some shopping.
Most the islands had little places like this where we could eat or shop.
And we are back. We were off the ship by 9 am so we got to spend the day in Puerto Rico before we caught our flight. It was one of my favorite days. The streets were lined with stores and it was so fun to walk around. We did a little shopping and walked around and saw some of the sights.
Taryn tried on our scuba gear and it was too funny not to get a picture.
