A few weeks before things shut down there were lots of rumors and crazy things being said about this sickness and all the people getting sick. We had NO idea what was about to happen. On March 13th everything changed. School shut down, church, jobs, stores, movies, parks, and restaurants all shut down for weeks or months. We only left the house once a week to get groceries or go on bike rides. It was the craziest thing to be stuck home and not go anywhere or do anything. After a week the kids had to do school from home and Dad had to work from home. It was so stressful trying to get everyone's work done and stay sane while all being stuck at home for days, then weeks, then months.
Here are a few ways we passed the time during Covid...Playing dress up.
We were lucky to get to have church at home.
Face masks.A fun little experiment with dry ice.
Lots of coloring. (3 marker challenge was a popular games).
Easter crafts.Ryder was mad about something.Water painting.
Homemade pizza, everyone gets to make their own pizza.
Lots of video games. The favorite was Minecraft for the younger ones and Fortnite for Dayton.
When we had nice weather the kids loved to jump on the tramp and play with chalk.
Sometimes we would go visit Chase and run around for a little bitMore painting, it is amazing how hard things are when you only have one arm.
Movie night. We had lots of movie nights, and game nights. On this night Dad was introducing homemade cheese popcorn to the kids. This is something he grew up having all the time.
As the weeks passed it got warmer, so the kids loved to get wet on the tramp.
This was a great time to play with our hair. This time we tried blue. This kid...
Sugar cookies, made, frosted, sprinkled and eaten.Bath bomb.
More crafts, this time bird houses.
Sleep-overs in each others rooms, and forts. We moved around a few rooms and bedrooms including Ryder's. He got a big boy bed and for the first time in 15 years we don't have a crib. The girls liked to sleep in each others rooms, so the boys wanted to too. Brothers sleepover.
A bunch of fun games of kick ball.
