Summer Trip Beginning

Here we go again. We left a few weeks ago driving across the country heading to Northern New York to see family. We made such good time and the kids were so good that we made it in 2 long days instead of the normal three, rolling in at 1:30 am.

Dayton and Camrie played with their blankets, pillows, and watched every Disney movie we owned. Also a few toys and some coloring to kill the time.

This was also a nice way to pass the time. Dayton found being under his blanket was the best way to sleep.

We had to make a few stops to stretch and walk around. This we just came across and it was great because the kids ran up and down this thing for about 20 minutes.
While in NY...

Kyle and I were able to go to Palmyra to see some church sites and the pageant that night. It was amazing to be there and we loved the show.

Here is the end of the pageant with over 800 members in the cast. It was a beautiful night, and we were so grateful the rain stopped long enough for us to see it.
Twice we have gone out for ice cream and the kids have played on this old train.

T Ball Trophy

Just finished our first t-ball season and the only thing better then the snack is getting a trophy. Dayton was so excited to put it in his room next to his soccer trophy's. He still likes soccer, but he really likes t-ball. I asked him what he likes about it and he said, " I love when it is my turn to hit, & I am a really good hitter."

Memorial Day Party

We went up to Idaho for the long weekend. We had so much fun it's hard to believe we did most of it in one day. But we had a great weekend with family and food.
The kids spent most their time in the "bounce house"
Believe it or not Dayton is not hurt, this is the pose he chose for the picture.

A few bumps and bruises, but it was worth it. No matter how many kids were jumping, or how big they were, nothing would stop Camrie from having her fun too.

The kids also enjoyed some games on the trampoline, a little ring around the rosy.

Some latter ball for the adults, because we were having too much fun and we would not share with the kids.

Horse rides. We put Camrie up here for a picture and then tried to get her down, but she would have none of that. She wanted a ride. So with Dayton holding on tight, she got to go for a ride. We had a hard time getting her off, she loved the horses.
Dayton sneaking a cookie. There was so much good food all weekend.

Two of the three babies/monsters. We had to keep a close eye on these girls.

Some of the boys played some ball.

And we had to try out our cousins new toy, a 4 wheeler. Dayton & Kyle took it for a spin a few times, and Kyle said that all Dayton kept saying was "faster Dad, faster."

T-Ball Time

Spring means one thing... baseball, or t-ball for us. Dayton started t-ball a few weeks ago, and now he is officially a Pirate. They play twice a week and Dayton loves it. They practice for the first half and then play another team, where they all hit and then take the field. We are happy that soccer ended because between Dayton and Kyle we are on a ball field 5 time a week, but Camrie and I are the best fans.

Here is Dayton's team getting ready to go hit.

Hitting the ball, he crushed it.

Running to first...

Safe at first base with both feet.

Kyle and some of the other dad's stand around the field to help tell the kids what to do, here he is the first base coach.

Out in the field ready for the ball.

When the ball is hit there are 8 kids all running to get it. That is the whole team except the first basemen, and sometimes they go after it too. It is really fun to watch.

Pre-school Graduate

Last night Dayton officially graduated pre-school. His teacher had a little program where the kids sang some of the songs they learned through the year about their letters and numbers. It was so cute and fun and Dayton's favorite part was that he got a bag of candy.

Here is Dayton and his teacher Ms. Misty. Now he is ready for Kindergarten.

Here is the class singing one of their songs.

Mr. Tough Guy

We tried to tell Dayton to tell people he had been in a fight and that is how he got this black eye, but he would not go for it. So the truth is he was playing on some bars at the grocery store while I was checking out and fell hard right to the floor. I did not see it, but heard it and thought I was going to have to take him to the ER. There was no bleeding, just a huge bump on his left eye. He took it like a champ after a few cries and screams, and even got a free candy bar.

These pictures do not do justice to what it really looks like, but it was the best we could get. It was a huge bump and he could only open that eye half way.

I thought this picture was too cute not to add. This is my little man, all beat up and still smiling for the camera.

Our Monkey

When I get ready in the morning Camrie is always with me. She likes to get into things and usually ends up with some make-up on. So one day last week she yells to me from my closet, "look mom, I a monkey". I say ya ya and keep doing my hair. Then a little louder she says it again till I look in and see her hanging from a bar.

Doesn't she look so sweet and innocent... But really she is yelling at me to watch her.

Here it starts

Ta-da. Here is our monkey.

After she gets off she laughs and says, "hahaha, mom I so funny, I a monkey, want do it again, again, again"? Until I say yes then she starts all over again. She thinks she is so funny.

I wonder who she learned it from...

Snowman in April

This is not a joke, these were taken this morning.

It started snowing last night, but we did not think too much of it. At about 1:3o this morning Dayton come into our room after having a bad dream, to help calm him down I showed him the snow and told him we will build a snowman in the morning. It worked and he went right back to sleep and so did I. Well, when he woke up to my surprise he remembered that we were going to build a snowman, and to my disappointment the snow was still there.

So after breakfast we all got bundled up and here is our snowman. Dayton says it is just his size. And he wanted to make his face out of silly string. Whatever I said as I wanted to go inside, but Dayton and Camrie had other ideas.

Dayton wanted to destroy the snowman we just built.

And Camrie wanted to clean the sidewalk, so we shoveled...

and Dayton killed Frosty, such a boy.

Easter Sunday

We had a quiet Easter at home this year. Dayton remembered that the bunny came and brought him candy in eggs that he hid. So every morning for about a week Dayton asked if it was Easter yet. Well that day finally came and the kids found great surprises. After all the excitement we were able to watch conference on t.v. as we heard from our church leaders who helped remind us what Easter is all about, and we are so grateful for that.

The Easter Bunny took a time out of his busy day to come see us at our local store on Saturday. We went all excited to see the bunny, play games, get candy, but all that was there was the bunny. And as Dayton pointed out to me, "he didn't even talk". So Dayton came to the conclusion that this was not the real Easter Bunny, but his helper. And I completely agreed.

Here they are petting him. Not really sure why, but I was just glad Camrie would go to him. And then I could not get her away, and she giggled every time she stood by him. I am pretty sure she even made it in a few other family pictures.

Easter Morning

We had a late night out with friends Saturday night, so Dayton did not get up till almost 9, and then he was kind enough to wait for Camrie to wake up. When he woke me up he was all excited because he knew the bunny had come. I asked him how he knew and he told me, "because I can see some eggs, but all I see are pink and purple eggs. I don't want pink and purple eggs those are girl colors." Well much to his relief he found that his were blue and green.
At first they were all into their baskets, but once we told them to find the eggs there was no stopping them. Dayton was on a mission, and even Camrie was close behind finding most her eggs by herself.

It was so cute, every time Camrie found an egg she would jump and squeal or giggle and run to get it. One was in the corner of the couch and she dove for it. Kyle and I loved watching the kids get so excited.
Before long all the eggs were found and it was candy eating time.

Other then candy they also got, bubbles, chalk, shoes, a toy, Camrie got a dress and Dayton a sweatshirt. And one of Dayton's favorite things was $1. Thanks to all the grandparents, the kids had a great Easter.
