Is This Normal?

Last Friday I was crazy busy tyring to get the house ready for my sisters and some of their friends to come stay here. I had my list of things to do and just enough time to get it them all done before everybody came. I had my last load of laundry going and was cleaning the upstairs bathroom when Kyle got home. The washer sounded a little funny, but nothing serious so I finished and then went to check things out with the washer and stepped in water. I started screaming for Kyle and got the water turned off. For the next hour I proceeded to clean the very big mess behind my washer and dryer. A job that was not on my list and that I did not have time for, but what was I to do?
The problem was that the hose that connects to the washer was off and spraying water all over the floor instead of into the washer. So we pulled out both the washer and dryer so I could mop things up, (thank goodness Kyle was home, I don't know what I would have done). But by moving out the dryer we discovered that the tube that pushed all the lint outside was off so the entire wall and the backs of the washer and dryer and the ground was all covered in lint and now soaking wet from the water as you can see below.

Yes I know, nasty. I almost did not show these, but I wanted everybody to know what I had to go through.

My only regret is not taking a picture after it was all cleaned up because it looked beautiful. (Or as beautiful as the back of a washer and dryer can look)! Even Kyle was impressed.

On the up side we had a great weekend with the family, Jaci, Mitch, Jenny, and friends that came to visit. It was a quick trip and we were sad they could not stay longer, but we enjoyed them while they were here. On Saturday we all went to lunch and while we were waiting in the doorway Dayton decided he had had enough and found himself a seat at the bar.

Dayton keeps us on our toes, I am just surprised we have not gotten kicked out of a restaurant yet.
